Chase's Easter Card

I really struggled with this card... and this is the end product which I'm very pleased with!  Except, when I picked it up to photograph, I discovered I put it on the card backwards and the card opens on the left instead of the right...UGGGGHHHHHHH!!!  I made it to give to my daughters boyfriend for Easter and she said "keep it that way, he will love it"!  So I am!   I got this as a freebie several years ago and wasn't sure where only to see it on Beccy's Place for her March challenge (the eggs are different, but I'm sure it is one of her designs).  I colored him with copics, silver wink of stella on his belt buckle, and clear wink of stella on all the eggs.  Layout is for Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 #108 Challenge.  CS is Craft Smith blues 12x12 pad (Michael's had them on sale last week for $5!!) and DP from Doodlebug Designs Bunnyville 6x6 pad.  Ribbon from Offray colored to match, Stampin' Up! dot candy, and computer generated sentiment.

  1. Cute card. Love the colors and the paper. I've adhered mine on that way, too. Ugh! I'm sure it won't be the last time for either of us. Thanks for joining us at Come And Get It challenge. Bunny DT

  2. Awesome. I think it would be great for a laugh to give it to daughter's boyfriend, when he tries to open it just watch his face. ♥[aNNie]

  3. You've done a great job on your card Brenda, I love the fabulous mix of colours you used... perfect for spring and Easter. I think most of us have done the old backwards card mistake, so you're in good company there! I like the idea of giving it to your daughter's boyfriend, I'm sure he'll get quite a chuckle out of it.
The image you used is the old, original hand-drawing that I posted several years ago. The new one on my blog is the updated, digital version that replaces it.
    Cheers,
    Beccy

  4. Brenda, your card is adorable. Love your color choice. I've done the same thing when I'm tired and in the middle of the night trying to get something done. You just have to tell him that until he is really accepted into the family he won't see things "right", hehe. But it is true, it will be funny to see him just try to open it and make it seem that you did it on purpose to give him a hard time to see if he will fit in with the rest of you easy going people. Either way it is gorgeous.

  7. It's so cute! The image and that bunny paper too, I do love the Doodlebug papers myself. Sometimes just everything goes wrong but it still turns out right, isn't that great?
